Encouraging dialogue around the issues related to antibiotic prescribing is clearly a step in the right direction; however, the problem with resistance bacteria is a global predicament and needs the cooperation of prescribers in countries outside the European Union as well.

استفاده نابجا از آنتی بیوتیک ها (تجویز بیهوده آنها، دُز و دوره درمان نامناسب و استفاده از آنتی بیوتیک هایی که روی طیف گسترده تری از باکتری ها اثر می گذارند) عامل اصلی گسترش باکتریهای مقاوم است. روز آگاهی آنتی بیوتیک در اروپا (18 نوامبر) روزی بود که مشکل پیدایش نمونه های مقاوم باکتری و راهکارهای جلوگیری از پیشروی این مسئله بررسی شد. از آنجا که میزان بالایی از آنتی بیوتیک ها در خارج از اروپا تجویز میشود، شاید مناسب تر باشد که برای حل این مشکل راه حلی جهانی را جستجو کرد
